Quatsino Questions

I am going to be boating and camping at Quatsino in a few weeks so I have a few questions.

1. Is there fish storage or ice in Winter Harbour
2.We will be Camping in a Tent and boat any suggested spots
3. We plan to jig for coho and springs any idea of spots to try would be helpful
4 As I will be fishing with a 10 and 15 year old any suggested things to do or see would be wonderful

Thanks again for any help in advance.

Qualicum resort lodge was selling ice last year. Some of the camp grounds have freezers they rent. On the inside many boats around Cains Island and Cliff Point, most if not all are trolling, not jigging. The board walk is one thing many do. Also some take a drive up to the beach by Lippy point.

the lighthouse and cliffe point could both be jigged just stay out of the way of the trollers, you won't make friends parking right in the honey hole.

Thanks for the tips...the nice thing about jigging is your are normally fishing places that can't be trolled with downriggers.

Just came back from WH and there is ice at the big gray lodge by the gov wharf.

Also jigged up a salmon with my tuna jig when going after lings. Lots of small springs inside and it's pretty protected.

When you say the inside could you be a little more detailed as I have not been there before...thanks

before you get to the lighthouse there is a little chanel that goes inside the island, there's a great pocket there perfect for a jigger. It comes up right in the middle of the gap, try both sides. Grant bay is a good spot as well.

I guess inside is not offshore, we fished behind and beside Kain Island when it was too windy to go outside. Also fished Cliffe Point on the way home its inside too. We must have timed it well cause there were fish everywhere we went.
