Bloom is starting to show but fish are still biting.
Water is warming up.
Couple of fellows coming in had five to about 18 or 20``

Didn`t make it out more than 20 feet from launch myself so don`t know what they were hitting.




Life jackets work.

I heard in the life jacket thread that you flipped today. What caused it? Hope you didnt lose any gear, but more importantly you are ok.

All ok, no lost gear, boat just swamped.
Embarassed, but thought reinforcing the idea of wearing a pfd - in this era where pfd's are readily available and comfortable - was worth the confession.
What occasioned the dunk was one of the launch wheels had slipped and I leaned into the stern corner to correct it.
It's a small boat with battery and minnkota adding to the weight in the stern, but a bit too much lean and she shipped water real quick.
All within 15 feet of the launch.
Fellow I referred to earlier - with the fish - was in an inflatable and said he had gone in himself earlier this year. He and his partner were both wearing pfd's today.
