Qualicum River chinook

Hello everyone

Just wondering if anyone pursue's chinook in the Qualicum River. I want to take my kids down. Where is the access to the river for fishing?? Thanks in advance

Well went fishing on the Qualicum to my surprise the fishing at the hatchery was closed. Some local fish closing that wasn't posted online. One man at the hatchery mentioned that they had been working on the river.. So the next morning I walked from the Qualicum Hatchery up 5K and back only saw 2 small fish no biters. The nice thing that I did see was that they worked very hard on the river and added many large pockets for fish to hold. Once the fishing gets really good these upper parts of the river will be great fishing holes.

I checked the Big Q hatchery quite a bit over the last week. I saw zero salmon in the river. It's closed beginning Aug 10 for fishing from the counting fence down in prep for the Springs to start entering the system.
