4 strands of fine uv light bluish/purple krystal flash wrapped around a #16 Tiemco 2457 hook, glass bead. 4 casts 4 17-20" rainbows in the Okanagan today. Doesn't match the hatch apart from the size and profile, but works. 20' of straight 6lb flurocarbon leader($11.00 for 250yds at Bass Pro in Vegas), tiny swivel, 3 more feet of 6x fluoro under a bobber. Mauve is the new black.

Nice. We started using holographic materials a couple of years ago.
Very productive. As you said does not match the hatch but seems to get their attention.

I will have to pick up some uv flash and try that.

Tips

I bought it to use for homemade Ace-Hi flies and hootchie inserts and tied a few chironomids just to see what would happen. Fishing was good anyway so I didn't throw one out until the end, but it worked well at the popular catch and release lake near Oliver.
