Well we had the blues in more ways than one today. We tore off to the banco first thing, made bait, and in about 5 mins had our first black marlin on. Unfortunately it spit the circle hook - WHAT?!?!? Then another black piled on our right rigger bait, no dice. Things went quiet so we put the lures in and headed south east to the rock, managed to raise a solid blue in the 400# range on the Marlin Magic short corner lure, good run, few jumps, then patuey. FAAAAK!!! 0 for 3 I almost kamakazied out of the tower.
Twenty minutes later the green/black Bahama Lure running in the left long rigger called up a small blue and the hooks stuck - FINALLY!!! Congrats to Bret for releasing his first billfish!!!
Sorry don't have time for more details I'm SWAMPED with the boss in town but there's fish out there kids, so get crackin! Also less than spectacular pics today as i was backing down and shooting pics one-handed. I was more concerned with getting the release on one (FINALLY!) than i was in taking pics!!!
We're at it again tomorrow, giddy up...
