Hope this isnt a dumb question, I m finally retiring my 50 e-tec,and going to a 50 suzuki , the e-tec has a stainless prop,...question is would it fit/work on my future motor....thanx
It depends on more than just the spline count...what are the gear ratios of the two motors? What is the exact brand/model/diameter/pitch of the stainless prop?
Looks like the ETEC 50 has either a 2.92:1 or 2.67:1 ratio, depending on the year
The Suzuki has 2.27:1 ratio
I'd expect that you'll need a different pitch prop to get the Suzuki in the right RPM range at WOT (listed range is 5300-6300, and you want to be spinning closer to the upper end of that range under normal/heavy loads to ensure that you're not lugging the motor)
