Prawns

Hey guys,

Will be heading to Nootka on Aug 10-15 to fish for springs, wanting to buy some prawns on the way home, is there anywhere to buy them, on the docks, and if so, where? Thanks

Commercial prawn season closed a long while back, so there won't be anywhere you can buy them off the docks fresh. Might have to try catching some when you are up there.

Don't have traps, and really not enough time, as only going to be there for 4 days. Thanks anyway.

There are no prawns in nootka. Been pretty over fished the last couple years.

Guy sells them just south of Courtenay on the old Island Highway - not far from the old Future Shop, on the right side of the road as you're heading south. Frozen, not graded, not cheap.

As BB says-- his prawns are flash frozen on the water and are quality product. (even with a mix of sizes)
