Do a search, there is a tonne of info on here. Put all the details together and you'll do fine. Here's a few from the other day.

We did quite well that day!

Loved the video mate, always interesting to watch.

Oh and for the record, me and the wife killed 396 others this same day in about two hours. Like I mentioned in another thread, the commies aren't even putting a dint in their #'s this year...at least in my "secret" spot.

OK, ya got us on the end count - good on ya!

I put a lot of these into ziplock bags of 100 cooked Prawns, I got about half a bag left, plus a couple of bags of raw that Bob gave me a few weeks back.

Prawn & Mayo sandwhiches... mmmm, nom nom nom...

FYI - We've done a lot of experimenting with storing prawns. The best technique we've found is heading them raw, then putting them in the large plastic tubs that we get from the bulk food section of our local grocery, then topping them up with water and freezing them in solid blocks of ice. The last six months easy and come out tasting great with no freezer burn. We just run the blocks under cold running water to thaw them out in about 10 minutes.

Hey Ian, I do exactly the same thing and it does work great. Ziplocs can get punctured so I go to Wally Mart and buy the square cheap plastic containers which can be reused and stack well in the freezer. I did notice that after a while the shells might turn a very light brownish however they turn pink when cooked and still taste great. I guess this is a sign to start eating more..... :0) SS

great info on the prawn storing. this is exactly why i read these posts.

Do you salt your water? I've been doing that and finding the prawns a wee bit flat in taste.

SH - Nice video, well I have all the right gear, now I just need to find some time to come north for a while to work on technique. Do you use an anchor or just the weight in the pot?

I know this was directed to SH, but in my experience, it's a good idea to have at least 5 pounds of weight ahead of your trap, not right on it. The reason for this is as your float swings and bounces around, the trap won't "hop" and scare all the prawns. YOu want nice docile prawns that stay in your trap, if the get scared, away they go.

If you are in an area with currents, more is better.

My $0.02

Hey LC, I just fill the container with regular tap water, press on the centre of the lid to get all of the air out (or you can do so under water) and smap the lid shut. I have never tried salt water but as SIR says, what we are currently doing seems to work very well. SS

Freezing them in containers of tap water works great as others have said. So I don't have to buy so many containers, I just pop the frozen block out of container and then vacuum pack the block or put then into zip lock bags. It works great, saves room in the freezer, uses less containers and they’ll store a long time.

I lay mine out on a cookie sheet and freeze them solid. Pull them apart and store them in a container. If you want 10, 25, 50 or 100 for a recipe, you grab what you need.

An old Japanese trick.

How long will they last that way without getting freezer burn eventually or do they never get freezer burn? I like the idea of being able to pull only as many as I need. Freezing them in water, we try and break them up into meal sizes. However, your way would give more options.
