Hey I was wonder are there any prawns around the porpoise bay area? Any good tips, advice, or tricks? How far do I have to go away from the shore? Also what are some good baits for them? How long do I leave the in the water for? Overnight? Thank in advance.

Most people won't give up specific areas on prawning on an open forum for obvious reasons. General info I've learned for any area is look for pinnacles/sunken islands or bays that are affected by the tides (think of food being funneled along an area) in 250-350 ft of water that have nice rocky slopes (some guys like mud mixed in)
3-4 hr minimum soak, overnight is best as it puts out a good scent trail.
Ace of baits prawn pellets soaked in the oil work good, honestly though any tuna/salmon/whitefish wet catfood works really well, especially Carlisle if you can find it
