So... After dragging the hauler all the way down to the shop in Duncan, my Partner had a new motor installed on the Ace line hauler. Funny thing, they didn't even bother to test the old one, nor run the new install job to make sure it would operate...
Went over today to sort the traps and ready for tomorrow am. About half-way through, Ricky decides to make damn certain the newly refurbished hauler will run. Plug in and hit the switch.
Nada. Uh-Oh?
Fiddle fiddle fiddle fiddle and What's
THAT? OK, there's a separate fuse box the owner never knew existed. And... Lo and behold, the fuse for the hauler is blown! Replace, plug and play with no worries...
Got me to thinking, and I snatched up the supposedly DOA motor off the shelf, and ran a couple wires to it's plug from a battery. You guessed it! Purring away contentedly to itself. Seems the
ONLY thing wrong was the fuse in the first place!
Buddy is out the fuel for the run to Duncan, and of course 250 clams for the motor and gearbox replacement. Ace Techie said no problem to return, so there's another tank of fuel, but at least he'll get the coin back for the refurbish. Certainly makes ya wonder why they didn't test it before replacing!
Oh well, back at it again in the am. Hope they are as thick as last time!!
Cheers,
Nog
