hello everyone,

My family and I are heading up to Port McNeil August 19-23 and staying at alder bay camp ground. The main goal of the trip is to get into a halibut and a ling. I have never been up there and would appreciate any Intel you are willing to share. I don't have an anchor system so I will be limited to drift jigging and or trolling the bottom with down riggers.

When I have been commercial fishing in that area we would find a nice looking reef on the gps and throw down herring or squid on a spreader bar. Lot of the time we would get a nice big ling and sometimes halibut within minutes. Can't see you having a prob getting your limit if you had a couple days to do that
