Port Alberni - Salmon Fest 2016 ?

Good Morning...

I apologize if this isn't the correct forum to post this in, maybe it should have gone into the "Derby" section...

My question is... I am thinking of making the trek down from Quesnel to Port Alberni for the September long weekend (Salmon Fest) and was wondering if anyone on here can tell me a bit more about the going on's in town that weekend?

I would be taking the family (Wife and Two kids, one 15 and one 4yr old) so was wondering what kind of things there is to do, to see, etc...

Any information would be fantastic... I imagine the webpage will start to have further information soon, but not a lot listed there yet. (Just 2015 stuff)

Lots to do in PA during salmon fest weekend, live entertainment, kids derby (bullhead), great salmon BBQ, usually car shows and craft fairs down by the harbour, oh yeah and the best lake on Vancouver island the might Sprout which is a awesome rec and fishing lake.
