Pinks on GO PRO Victoria waterfront

Here is my go pro video of some pinks off of the VH (Yellow) can in Victoria. It is hard to see the coho killer. its off of a dummy flasher and the lure is only less than 10 feet back. Notice how green the water is and the lack of visibility. Probably another topic but I always matched the colour of the lure or flashers to the colour of the water. I also noticed that the purple haze flasher and lures didn't show up as well in these water conditions which is why I switched to the lures with white on them. Just my own thoughts.

I should also add that this is only 30 seconds of over an hour of video. We had another fish on the other side at the same time as this video and had no idea of the the bites we were getting. In other parts of the Video the fish would follow the lure for minutes at a time nipping at it. Would love to get these pictures in the pockets for springs and to look at the bait balls.

I have video of catching a fish as well but it is not as exciting as you would think. Haha

Lol...funny seeing the rigger clip fall when the fish was hooked. Crazy how many fish were down there when you dropped back down.

BTW...do you have a pic of your mount setup on your cannon ball?

I don't. I keep forgetting. drilled hole in pancake weight. used go pro mounts with nut and bolt and a couple of washers. Angle up 45 degrees. When I get time I want to make a metal bar to bolt to as the plastic in go pro stuff in not the greatest.

Very interesting, thanks for posting that. I look forward to more.

On a side note, I was watching the vid and my wife walked by and asked what I was looking at, I told her... She watched for about 30 seconds and told me "it's like watching paint dry". Sheeeesh, maybe to her. LOL

WOW. your paint must be spectacular.

One blip of speed or a sudden slow down and that spring wound have inhaled your chovie!

Wicked videos for an addict like me. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome idea with the go pro. You must have been asleep at the wheel when that 18 hit..lol..I wish I had one to put on my cannon ball. Too bad there isnt a way to watch whats going on down there live. That would be pretty awesome to see if fish are around or not when your actually fishing!

Heading out again today, learning lots with regards to lure/bait presentation and trolling speeds. Either with or against the tide. My anchovy sure looked a lot different on the surface than near the bottom. Of course I get to sift through 2 hours or more of exciting video to check out my lures. Hahah. Yawn.

Regarding water clarity I am going to try my new red filter. The good magenta filter for green water is sold out in Canada but the red one should help a bit. (I hope).

If you dont look at your rod for that long I sure hope you look where your going :P LOL

These videos are epic!

I too was shocked how docile he was between head shakes!

The biggest fish I ever hooked was nibbling like a shaker until I set the hook. Woulda loved to see that on JL's go pro probably looked similar only twice the size salmon following along.

You expect fish that size to hammer off the clip but usually it isn't so. Get a 6lb coho in there instead and the hit would have been furious and the fish gone out of view with the lure in a flash!

oh do we get to see the anchovies action? mines looks good up top too :D

I like the pinks, lots of them have put a scrappier fighters then coho, so much so ive got the gaff ready not the net.

Definitely neat learning the biting and fighting characteristics of different species.
