Anybody been out fly fishing for pinks? I'm wondering if it's been more productive in front of the Millstone river or in Departure Bay. Any info would be great, did a walk of both areas today but saw none jumping so I'm thinking it's a morning and evening fish.
Lots of pinks on the beach next to the departure bay ferry. Took the fly rod down for a little while and landed 2. Lots jumping out of range of my casting but they finally moved in close to shore and were eager biters when they did. I used a small pink shrimp pattern that i tied and it seemed to work well. Get out there and get them.
