Pesky phone solicitations

I keep getting annoying phone calls from a credit card company offering to upgrade my card etc. I seem to remember that there is a * number that you can call immediately after the call that will block them from sending future calls to your number. Anyone remember what it is?

We use call display. If we don't recognize the caller or the number we do not answer. If it is important they can leave a message.
