Otter Issues at Esq Anglers Launch.

The otters at Esquimalt Anglers boat launch are back to their old tricks.

Yesterday friends were pulling their boat out and went to get their trailer. While no one was at the boat the otter jumped in the back of their boat and pulled their only 20lb halibut out. They pulled the boat and got home and went to get their halibut and it was gone. They looked on the Esq Angler web site camera and saw the thief taking there halibut. Later on the camera they saw a guy wade into the water and pull their halibut out with a large piece taken out of the halibut. The guys then went to the cleaning table and took the other good fillets off of the fish. At least some humans got some halibut.

DO NOT LEAVE ANY FISH UNATTENDED IN OR OUT OF THE BOAT WHILE AT THE ESQ ANGLER .

Yup, I was thinking about them yesterday. Fish need to be either in a closed cooler or on the cleaning table with a you over it with a knife in your hand! At 5:19 in this video they grab one of the carcases I was going to use for crab bait and they were eyeing them up as soon as we put them on the dock.
