Ottawa paves way for Quebec to access defunct long gun registry data

Federal Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale tabled a bill in the Commons today that will allow the province to look at information from the registry if the legislation passes in the Commons and the Senate.

How is it possible for the Liberal government to give Quebec gun registry data deleted by the RCMP no later than April 12, 2015?

Interesting question. The registry was required by law to be deleted, yet someone kept a copy ILLEGALLY. Who kept it, and will they face any consequences?

A certain group of people does what it wants, laws be damned, but don't worry it is for our own good.
They were using registry data when breaking into peoples houses in High River, so it is not news to me.

the registry is supposed to be deleted, but really does anything really get deleted that's digital? hmmm, shouldn't have gave them your numbers. wasn't it Austrilia that followed along and registered and after it cooled down they banded long guns and so forth? the Gov new where most of them were so turn them over grind......chop, sorry

At least we can all rest easy that if we ignore any future firearms laws, the RCMP will side with us, since after all, they don't believe in following firearms legislation unless it's something the brass already supports.

Well, my personal executive branch is fairly freedom-oriented, so I guess I don't have to follow firearms legislation any more; at least not in areas serviced by the RCMP.

Right?


The sad thing is that I'm very close with lots of front-line RCMP. They're often about as frustrated with RCMP brass as I am. Frequently over related issues.
