Has anybody been/fished/heard of guys fishing these way off shore places? I was just looking around at my chart software and there seems to me just hundreds of prime looking structure out off shore, you can see some of the places i just put a mark over, which are only an extra 1 or 2 hours past swiftsure tops. i know these are eye popping off shore for most guys here on the westcoast, but the guys out east are doing 100+ miles so there definitely reachable and im sure hold fish....

Fish 3 6 and 4 look good, the Blue Dot is farther south then the ones you have listed. But by the time you start going to the ones above, you are better to launch out of Renfrew, you are not going "out" any farther, you are just hitting the inshore places that other guys have picked over. Come see me at the camp this weekend, I'll show you how to setup an anchor rig, you will not have to go farther then you already are to get quality fish!

Actually, I pretty much draw the line at about 50NM offshore unless I have a very good reason, but my insurance is good to 125NM!

Yes, there and you can catch fish at the location you have marked “fish 1”, but the one you marked “fish 3” is usually better. You have a “No Halibut or Bottom Fish” area you need to be aware of, check the regulations - it is at: N48 28.389 W125 01.760, N48 34.036 W125 17.405, N48 15.260 W125 41.072, N48 28.350 W125 01.712. Watch for that as I have seen many "aircraft" in that area!

I am not sure exactly what you are asking, or want to know? The areas you marked are mostly “very” well known “sport fishing” areas and I and a lot of others have/do fish on a regular basis! I expect to see boats in those areas whenever and everytime I am in those spots!

Are you looking farther offshore, then those you have marked?
Hmmm. if so, Yes, there are more areas farther out, but based on boat and experience - I would NOT recomment most venture out that far, unless you truely do have an "offshore" boat and the experience to go along with it! It is awfully loanly out there!

Here let me help you out on some of the more popular and well known "sport" spots!

Let the commercial, and ture experienced "offshore" boats go out farther. I can guarentee you, when you are there and **** turns bad, you need a good boat and the experience to go with it!

Just, IMHO!

I was not planning on heading out there at the moment, i was just looking over the charts in my spare time and was just wondering if a fishery does take place in these spots as i havnt heard of it.

Which one is The Wreck?
Wow, you guys are starting to get awfully specific! I can already see starting to get yelled at, but think I am safe with the "Wreck", it is actually shown on the charts? :D

The “Wreck” itself (as marked on the charts), is located at N48 45.975 W125. That is 23.6 nautical miles from the Green Buoy at Seaspool Rocks, want to know where that is... N48 48.859 W125 12.259? Run a heading of 245° Magnetic.

I have always called Rat's Nose N48 35.500 W125 39.300. But everyone might have it a little different? I can always call this "Charlie's Nose"! :D

The best fishing "I" have had for both of those is on the inside edge of the drop-offs. Fish the inside edge of the bank and you should find an upwell, which draws the baitfish.

Again, when you guys start making those types of runs… PLEASE make sure you have the weather, boat, and experience - to do that safely! There have been times I actually said to myself – this boat isn’t big enough… I have had a lot of people over the years that just flat-out refuse and won’t go back out into those areas! It can get “ugly” fast!
