Looking for bamfield or ucluelet off shore map... something with the local names on it. I have looked at the charts.... but it would be nice to have one with the local names on it.

Unless you can find someone who'll mark up a chart for you I think that you're out of luck. You won't find a chart with Starfish,Rat Nose, or Turtle marked on it. Sould be someone who will be willing to post GPS coordinates with their local names attached to them. It's been posted on here before but I can't seem to find the thread.

Charlie posted it awhile ago and I was looking for it also. I sold my boat and forgot to take all my GPS waypoints. If someone has the page it would be great or hopefully Charlie will post it again.

I head out this Sunday. I had bought the charts, made the reservations, but the locations were eluding me. Thanks for this.

Last year we went on the Canadian Princess, and we were in real close drifting and jigging. I didn't have a GPS with me, but it was only about 15 minutes out. We did well for both Halibut and Springs. Anyone have any specifics on where there close drift is?

If you're in Ucluelet, there's a tackle shop [forgot the name of the place] in town that has a master map of all the offshore locations. The person in the shop said you could buy your own copy of the map and sit there and write in all the locations on your copy - or bring your own map and copy down all the offshore locations.

15 minutes out, my first guess would be 'South Bank'? Second guess, would be Outer South Bank. Third guess (and probably wasn't) would be Lighthouse?

We headed up or towards Tofino, that I remember. It wasn't for a ways that we really headed offshore. Where do you mean when you say Lighthouse?

Well, if you left Ucluelet and headed towards Tofino, and didn't get to or fish Portland it was probably what "I" call "The Line." I really don't know the local name. It is where a lot of Puget Sound Chinook have been known to hold (depending on currents) and when things are a little slower, it is a favorite spot for the Princess boats at times.

They and every other boat (only 17 total) including ours were there Saturday(June 18th) Pretty easy limits of 15-22 lb springs and small halis trolling deep (it's only 135' deep in spots). All were clipped but one.

Where are you referring to Tubber? This sure sounds what we did last year. Do you have coordinates?

I had a blast jerk fishing except all the people on the boat caused for lots of tangles, and half the time we were on the wrong side of the boat according to the drift. On my own boat I expect that I can control the boat better.

I bought two new rod and reel assemblies, and a whole box of jerk lures exactly as used on the Princess. As a backup I am bringing all of the traditional trolling stuff as well. I hope to go out a bit and find Coho's. I have Sunday afternoon/evening through to and including Wednesday, so I should be able to put the hours in, weather permitting.

Charlie just gave you the coordinates. We didn't see any cohoes this trip. Good luck and have fun.

I will be in Ukee too - 9 days, starting Friday afternoon.

Arima with blue top, moored at the government dock.

Will be in Ukee from Friday afternoon to Sunday as well. May see some of you out there. 21' grey over white K&C Thermoglass.

Cheers guys.
