i heard theres new regs there now. from the 1st of every calender month to the 15 is open season for prawning but from the 16th to the end of the month is closed season.

Prawn and Shrimp Closures
In the waters of Subareas 19-7 to 19-12 inclusive (Saanich Inlet), the harvest of prawns and shrimp by trap, ring net, or spear while diving, will close for the following periods (Fishery Notice 799):
from Sept. 16 until Sept. 30, 2006
from Oct. 16 until Oct. 31, 2006
from Nov. 16 until Nov. 30, 2006
from Dec. 16 until Dec. 31, 2006
from Jan. 16 until Jan. 31, 2007
from Feb. 16 until Feb. 28, 2007
from Mar. 16 until Mar. 31, 2007
