New Boat

I have been shopping and shopping for a new boat. I currently own a 2004 Lund, and love for inland fishing, but when I hit the salt chuck it is just a bit small, and hard on the kidneys.

I have been looking at 20-23 foot Trophy, Wellcraft, Sea Swirl....Any others out there that I should keep in mind? Or better yet anyone wanna make a trade plus cash... :)

Holy!! Crap 40K for 21ft [:0]
That power better be this year current

Yeh thats a flip for sure guess it depends how lazy you are

I could find that for less than 16K
( if that is non Current power)

I like that boat, but it is overpriced...I saw a MINT 23.5' Wellcraft 2004 with Yamaha 225hp 4 stroke FULLY decked out minus a windlass,..all the electronics a man could dream of with a really nice alluminum trailer for $40,000 in Edmonton. It even had a hardtop with BRAND new curtians!!! I have seen similar boats to the one posted here in the states for around 22,000

Vancouver boat show had a 2008 21 striper HARD TOP with a 175 Yami 4 stroke AND a 9.9 yami 4 stroke with power lift, steering link to main and remote power and 2 scotty d/r and a trailer for only 10 grand more than that. Anyone who buys the 2001 for $39K would be an idiot

No I am not a salesman, I just thought it was a great package.

Yeah I agree,..I have been looking ALL WINTER for an upgrade. Footitis I guess...I would like one in the 20-21 foot range with a nice cuddy and crapper and hardtop as well

I find it's tough to get a REALLY good deal this close to home. Me thinks mid to high 20k's maybe in Florida
The guy seems high for sure.
cheers

Nice boat!....it's a Washington boat...looks like someone's trying to make about $15,000 on a flip. Mid to high twenties down south.

Many good deals in California as well. A bit of a drive, but do-able. Perris (sp?) California seems to be a boat hotbed. I spent all winter looking for a Striper...things changed and I had to downgrade. Some very good deals came up on the larger Stripers. As for crossing the border with a boat...that was a cake walk.
Have fun with your search...its highly addictive [:I]

For the record, that boat for 39k does not have the Alaska package as claimed. It is simply a hardtop. Next year I plan to buy a 2101 Striper ...down south. For 30K I think I can find one that's like new. [8D]

Well I really appreciate the comments guys...I would like to know how to post pictures of mine on here...maybe I can get a bite on it, and buy one sooner than I think..

You cant get that boat for 16k, but mid 20's is possible. You have to remember there are costs of bringing a boat up here. I just went through this myself and got a 2k6 striper six months back. Some of the deals that seemed too good to be true were. I wouldnt suggest buying private in the states.

I agree with chrome on the price issue. The prices are lower down south from what I've seen, but not more that half the price. Chrome, tell us about your experience down south. You say private sales are to be avoided down there?

Yes I would like a new boat too BUT and this is a huge BUT the way DFO is mismanaging our fishery and if you have a good boat already.

You may want to hold off spending 40 grand I have a feeling they want to hammer us sport fisherman with even more closures and shorter seasons, limits etc etc etc.not just with halibit I bet you anything salmon WILL be next

I sure the last thing you want is to spend that amout of money only to see it sit in a driveway as you can only go out WHEN they want you to!!!!!!be carefull just like this hail thing they will just spring this on us with about 3 days notice again I have lost total faith in these clowns!!!!!!!

WOlf has lost faith in DFO/FOC? That must mean he, at one time, had faith in them. I, on the other hand, am still waiting to see them do anything that 'rings true!' Count me as one who has no faith in DF0/FOC and never have! Let me see...seals, racist fishieries, american charters crossing the boarder, commercial fisheries, herring fisheries...starting to get the picture? Think it's time we gave up buying new boats and simply bought a polotician. They are for sale! LOL

Fishing Guide

Let's go fishing, eh!

Hey Fishing guide,...what type of new boat would you recomend??? I really like the sea swirls, trophy, and wellcraft, but just started to look at the harborcraft as well...I live in Edmonton, so getting out to the ocean only happens 2-3 times a year for about a week at a time, but I want somthing that I can use around here once and a while as well...I would love to post the pic of my current boat but have no idea how to do that...

Hey CA and provided that you have good kidneys...... :D:D you have a great dead rise on your ride so I know you will be offshore...:D:D SS
