New Bait

I pulled a couple 6" herring out of that last 25 incher I caught that looked in better shape then that.....froze them with the salmon scraps n guts... maybe I should tie one up :p

What are they preserved with?

Because if it's formaldehyde they'll poison whatever eats them.

As a kid I remember my Dad had a bottle of preserved minnows-they never caught a thing.

oh man! I would not buy them.. They look old.

I am an aquaculture technician for 25 years. I am using the formaldehyde for my aquariums. Itkill Bacterial , gill fluke, etc and Eggs protection. what I heard that they are safe for food. Also cigarette has lot in it. Do you know that trout/salmon farms are using formaldehyde for protect eggs and other reasons.

"We were at Bass pro Shop and asked if they had any frozen anchovies, they said no but we do have these (Magic Preserved Anchovies) so we thought OK let's give them a try. Well they were magic allright. Made the fish disappear. We were out all day, tried numerous locations where there were fish. As soon as we put these things in the water the fish disappeared. On our last attempt to even just get a nibble on our line we went to the tires and dropped our line in about 100ft of water where there were fish. We cut up a whole bag of these things and dropped them. There was not one fish would eat any of this excuse for bait."
