Nearly The Bggest Run in a Century

"Carl Walters, a fisheries expert from the University of B.C.’s zoology department, said Ms. Shea could reduce the conflict by allowing a greater share of the salmon to be caught this year.

“What is truly shocking is not that the run is large, but rather that DFO apparently does not plan to allow high harvest rates. There could be a huge waste of fish,” he said, with river conditions so crowded that millions of fish may perish without spawning."

Better go kill some more to help the survival rate on the spawning ground ;)

Will keep you in mind, especially if I can get days off work next week or at least get off earlier for an evenings fish or two. I have had a bit of a flood of calls as expected ...... so a bit of a line-up. Even ex-wives have suddenly become really friendly!![:0] The headlines today will certainly keep charters booked up !

My hopes now is to be able to get plenty of fish without going any farther out than 5-10 min from my marina ( are we ever completely satisfied ?? :) too funny. Fitting in quick evening fishing after work has helped my obsession .....get even worse!!!!
It has been very successful some days close in ...but some days its been much better beyond my 5-10 min. distance.
