National Geographic Channel ( Tuna Fishing Premier Tonight)

You know, I'm not sure I want to watch this. It's kinda like watching them shoot the last passenger pigeon or club the last Great Auk. It's just wrong to continue destroying a species so some Japanese business man can eat hugely expensive raw fish.

Heavy aluminum (or wood) trolling poles with tag lines to bring the line with the lure to a hydraulic tuna puller. Not quite as sporting as the marketing.
Some of the Amercian boats have a stern cage apparatus with guys fishing bait on a long pole with a fixed line (no reel).

Ironic it's by National Geographic. It's an international problem. Once again over-fishing by commercial interests have brought the big fish close to the brink. Deepwater Horizon pollution in the spawning grounds sure didn't help, either.

I may be wrong, but I think the show is about catching them with rod and reel. I couldn't open the trailer to watch it though.

I checked on Shaw Nat Geo and can't find it. Even queried the show by name but nada. Maybe we won't get it in Canada.

Dunno where Baddog is getting his info from. Maybe he has satellite servcie with 1 zillion channels?? There is definitely nothing to see here on the Island if you are restricted to Shaw.

The info came from the link that I posted from the Nat Geo website. Sorry lads, I was as excited as you were.
