I haven't fish Nahmint lake in years. I hear there is road access and a small launch now. Just wondering about trolling in the lake. Do most people fish around the inlet river (near the launch)? Don't really want to go much futher as I am in a canoe. Any info would be helpful.
Thanks SS

Fished the lake back in the mid 1960's having won a fly in trip
with Vic Dawson from Brentwood. Fished mostly the top end of
lake as we stayed in Vic's old cabin on the shore (since burnt
down by irate Sproat Lake Division Mac-Blo loggers in response
to efforts to save a few trees in the watershed). We fished out
of an old row boat and caught a few nice fish - largest 4 lb.
although we had some big fish on. Most of these bigger fish are
steelhead and now you have restrictions of no trout over 50 cm,
bait ban and single barbless hook. Fishing can be good at times.
Good luck.

been there a few times....a long drive on gravel roads especially a few sections very rough...there's a park down there for visitors to camp....very nice lake...good fish in there...strict restrictions over there to protect big wild trout. Conservation officers may show up by surprise. I was on the logging road the other day..spotted a helicopter patrolling at one of closed rivers. Good luck and have fun fishing.
