I have searched the archives, every grocery store in Campbell River and can't find this stuff. I was going to order some from their website but UPS wants $27.50 to deliver $12 of product. Can anyone point me in the right direction.

Can be found at "Real Canadian Super Store" in CR...........PM me if you can't find it, I may have some left from last summer.........BB

Thanks for the help. I found some "Bait Brite" at Redden Net in CR. Hope the weather holds for some winter spring action and prawning this weekend.

WOW, Jello, good tip. Anyone ever try green dye?

Hmm.....

Hey anybody ever try just plain ole 100% natural herring? Picked mine up today (4 boxes) for the upcoming season, looks beautiful!

If the fishing is red hot, plain herring is just fine. If you need to wait a while between hits, you need to use a wet or dry salt brine or your bait might soften up and fall apart or not roll right. If you're bored or really need to get fish to get your self-esteem back up you can start adding the colour and top secret ingredients like powdered milk, scent etc...
On the other hand if the fishing is really hot, you don't need bait at all. In other words if you need to use bait, you probably need to salt it.
