Moutcha Bay Resort

I'm planning a trip to Moutcha Bay this August with my two boys, and no old lady. My one son doesn't like fishing (he fell on his head when he was a baby).
Are there generally many teenage girls or boys there at that time of the year that I can pay to look after him when my other son and I head out? I'm sure there are, but if this scenario is unlikely to happen, I'll have to arrange for him to go to a camp or something similar.
Thx

Um, I would be worried!!!

Been a while since I was there, but all I saw around camp were guys who were recovering from the night before. The rest of us were out fishing. Perhaps drop him off at a summer camp in the Campbell River area, or leave him at home. OR make him come along. The area is fantastic, and there is a ton of stuff to do as a kid. Take him to the Canuma hatchery. Take him mountain biking. Take him to Friendly Cove and see the church and the lighthouse. Take him for a clam dig, have him pull crab and prawn traps, etc.

Hey Drewski. I would like to take the opportunity to let everyone know that Nootka Marine Adventures took over operations at Moutcha Bay in 2008. We are just completing a major upgrade to the resort. I dont want to go on in this forum about all that we've done, but, there is a new lodge with a restaurant and fish packing plant, ice, tackle, serviced RV sites etc.

We're very excited to be opening June 11th for the 2011 season and welcome everyone fishing in the Gold River/ Nootka Sound area to come by(road or boat) and look at the new Moutcha Bay.

We have been going to Moutcha Bay Resort since 2008, like the place and are going back for two different trips this year. That said, I would personally say "NO" to the babysitting part. In my opinion, I would agree with what Drewski said. It's a great area and in August you don't have to go outside to get fish.

I have heard that Moutcha Bay is absolutely outstanding place. Not to take anything away from them. but, I heard their is apparently quite a few unemployed commercial fisherman, that might be hanging around that might need the $ for there next ride home. I heard the commercial guys for $50 bucks will give you a 3 hour tour, feed you and a quick drip in the pool. So maybe they will babysit too.
