Mooching Reel

I'm looking for recomendations on a mooching reel. I just finished a 10.5' Lamiglas mooching rod, and now I need a reel. I should probably mention that I'm a Yankee and the whole mooching rod/reel setup will be new to me, but I'm looking forward to it!

depends on how much you wanna spend ?
if you're looking for an economy reel, the shimano gt4000
is the best for the price range, about $100.00 US
The best westcoast mooching reel is probably Islander
but you are looking at about $500.00.

Welcome,Try L.F.S. in Bellingham.They had a 9ft. rod with a shimano mooching reel combo for 100.00 We got that deal for taking this fishing class.ask for zack,He might deal with ya.He won't be in till next mon.He's at the boat show,he might have some good deals down there.

GT 4000 is a great reel very tough for the first timer and lasts its waterproof as the 2000 isnt for the extra go for the 4000 then move up to an islander.

Crap tried it for a whole week in aug catching lots of fish my clients didnt like it also and I personally didnt like it but im also a die hard single action lover on the ocean
