Mono Leaders

l’m an old die hard mono leader guy. I went looking for a roll of 60# Ultra Green for hoochie leaders today, nothing around Campbell River…

Any tips on where to buy down island or order from?

Clear 60# Big Game works and maybe easier to find.

Depending on what you are using the leaders for, you may want to switch to Florocarbon leaders. Much stiffer, and imparts a way better action to a hoochie or small spoon. If it is just for bottom fish, then mono is more cost effective and at depth visibility of the leader makes no difference.

You may have to run down to Nanaimo though to get what you are looking for. More shops but most important there may be some bulk line rolls at some of the shops to go to.

60# floura would be pretty stiff. Personally 60# mono is way heavy but each to their own.

We used up to 80 lb when I commercially trolled. Big slabs bit those leaders just fine.

However when a big one spit the hook in your hands when you were hauling it in the gear came at you hard
