Lowrance - Fishfinder/GPS Combo???

I have a Raymarine unit, and I like it better than the lowrance combo I had. It has been more reliable, and I noticed that when my Lowrance fired up it says right on it not to rely on it for navigation, whereas my raymarine doesnt have that message.[8D]

Take only what you need.

Fish assasin thats likely just for liability. I have a garmin combo and dont really like it. The gps is decent but the fishfinder is mediocore at best. I have used raymarine and lowarance combos on other boats and they are much better units in my opinion. I think either of them are a good choice.

One is made by fishing type guys the other is made by the same people who make them for military applications all over the world.

I liked my lowrance while it worked, but thats just it, it didnt always work! I believe Raymarine is what most of the commercial guys would prefer.

I'm running a Raymarine system also and am pleased with its performance. Its a c-80 multifunction display with DSM300 digital sounder module, RS125 gps sensor and Radar w/ RD218 2kw Radome. We basically boat year round "inside" and offshore... mostly westcoast Vancouver Isl. and spend time exploring new territories...and of course, sometimes in pretty lousy conditions... DId over 100 hrs since I got the boat in March and I'm pretty impressed with its performance. By the way, after I did my homework I bought the package last Feb at the boat show in Vancouver... by far the best deal I could find.
Good luck in your search ALK...
