Looking for fishing buddy near Courtenay

This post is for my Dad, who unfortunately, has lost a couple of fishing buddies over the past few years (for clarity - nothing he did!! :) ). He lives near Courtenay, has a great boat, loves the ocean and has been fishing and exploring the coast for 40 years. The perfect fishing buddy for him would know boats and be confident with charts etc. and have a sense of adventure. Dad is super capable but we don't like him to be out on his own - especially on the West Coast! Do you know anyone who would be excited about the opportunity to get out on the water, make a new friend, share stories and catch some fish in the process? Dad is turning 80 this year and all he wants for his birthday is a fishing buddy. Your ideas will be appreciated.

Hey Bryan, is this not the age group you hang with..... He'd fit right in with the rest of the old timers you fish with. :)

Sorry I had to say something.....

One day, you too willl have silver hair....if you are lucky enough to have a healthy long life : )

However you forgot to explain to all the new places it is growing.
You never mentioned you needed a mirror to see it.✈

Wow talk about hijacking a post, 9 replies and not a single one related to the original post which appears to be a sincere request for some assistance. Looks like some people were ignored by their mommies growing up.

Say Hello to my leetle friend--- OBD watches my back!!! LOL!

Seems to me that Gerry should start keeping his eyes on the fishing rods. Hair and back watching seems a wee bit strange even for your friends. I heard about a movie that had somthing to do with guys going fishing. :)

Oh and Sea Wolf these are the guys I think Anna's father should be out fishing with with. See what kind of fun he could be having....

Hey Anna, I'm in Qualicum for most of the summer, and would be happy to accompany him for a trip or two. Where does he like to fish?

That's great!! Dad fishes off of Comox and Campbell River and Kelsey Bay, but he loves to go up to Friendly Cove and also to the West Coast. Pretty much anywhere, I'd say. The boat is in Courtenay. Can I put hin in touch with you? Thank you so much!
P.S. Sorry about the delay in answering - I forgot to check!

Sure, send me a pm and I will give you my mobile number that you can pass on to him. Newfie Guy on here is also in the area and willing to help Pops out too.
