First Avet I ever baught was a 2 speed. That was many many years ago I cant remember how many. Used the slower speed one time. You will find that the 6 : 1 speed is money. Since your always reeling down anyway. Dont waste the extra dough buying the 2 speed

We have switched to the LX 6.0 single speed reels and use the same setup for groundfish and sturgeon fishing the whole ground fishery.
