Looking for a Deer Rifle for my brother.

My brother is looking for a second hand rifle to start deer hunting with. He doesn’t have a huge budget around $500 or less and he’s hoping to get something like a .270 or a 7mm ect. Just checking to see if anyone bought themselves a new one and might be willing to let their old one go for a decent deal as a first rifle to a great guy.

I have a .284 Winchester I may sell. Its in good condition with a bushnell scope. Ive given up hunting over the last few years. I havnt registered it.
