Local Halibut

Been coming to Hardy for 13 years and still struggle with the Halibut - primarily location within 15 miles or so. Have tried many leads (ie. Christie Pass, Deserters, Airport, fish farm, Taylor Bank) but very very limited luck). Have the right gear, bait but just seem to not find them. Its getting frustrating as a result. Any additional advice someone can provide would be greatly appreciated. I give up asking at the docks because everyone seems so guarded once you ask them a question. Hopefully someone reads this posting and can provide some information that might make the difference. I'm not a big Halibut hunter guy here - just a dad with a kid who would love to have fun with a halibut. Cheers!

if you want info, all i can say it the halis up there travel from different depths depending on the day, start in 130ft and try as deep as 350-400. i was getting them in 140ft last year. this year i hit them at 330ft mostly off the deserters and gordons.
