legality off minnow traps

Quick question about minnow traps.
Canadian tire sells em, and YouTube is filled with cheap do it yourself ideas...

Are these legal? What sort of restrictions do they have on use of these?

Freshwater-- use them for crayfish. You must release any fin fish. As far as saltwater... guess you might call them mini prawn traps !!! LOL

Thats what I was thinking after I thought about it for a little bit.

Think Im gonna make one to sink off the side of the dock and see if I can't get any shrimp next time Im out lol.
