Is it possible to launch in Ukee on a low tide? I know of Island West Resort but it looked pretty shotty on the low last time I was there.

Boat GW 232 gulfstream.

Thanks in advance

not at island west. I barely was able to launch my 208 grady adventure on low tide. Need at least 4 ft

The only other ramp is Seaplane Base Road and it was designed for seaplanes and isn't very good at any tide.

Stick with Islands West.

Launched at Island West 2 weeks ago on a low tide... Nasty/crappy launch... Managed to bump the boat off because we have rollers... To our surprise there is a rock/sand bar about 20ft behind the lanch.. It goes from deep water to 1 ft of water... cant see it unless you know where it is... but it extends across the launch towards the cleaning station.... its big... grounded our prop... We asked the lady running the Islandwest that morning if there were any other options... She didnt know a thing... I mean nothing... it was embarrassing... Almost as embarassing as grounding... Not the way to start the trip... Its possible to launch but if your trailer tires roll off the end of the concrete... its over... Your going to need about at least 3ft tide.... and dont trust those website tide tables... they are quite often off by a few feet.. The Seaplane base makes the IslandWest launch look good...

Sounds the same as the Salmon Beach launch. I might moore my boat next year at either Toquart or Ukee because of missed early mornings due to the tides. Tofino's launch seems good but that's a wee bit of a drive. I haven't had a problem there yet on low tide except parking can be hard to find:(.

Im really surprised Salmon Beach has such a shallow launch... my buddy has a 20 aluminum and and has problems at low tide there... but that Island West launch is really crappy you would think with a little effort it could be improved considering its the only real launch site in Ukee..( I think )

Island West is starting to look pretty run down. We have launched there, and stayed at their campground a few times during the summer months for several years now. Each year they just allow winter to take its toll on the place, and re-open. At least so it appears.

The ramp drop's off on the side facing the cleaning dock, so, when backing down, it is better staying closer to the side facing the break water.

I was not aware of the sand bar, but my 17 Arima is hardly the most challenging boat to launch.
