As far as I know Cluetsi is an all tide launch. Running the river now thats another thing when it is honking, especially getting into and out of the dock.
The ramp at Clutesi Haven in Port Alberni is good at any tide. You just have to watch the current when you back out if the river is high.Been using this ramp for 25 years. Make sure you go for one of the center lanes at low tide or you will get wet feet.
For those launching with smaller boats (mine is 19ft) try and get the boat turned bow out and upstream while in the eddy before leaving into the main current. You don't need a lot of gas and the boat will ferry out from the dock that is downstream. Not so easy to do when there is a lot of traffic but do-able.
