What did you do in the days before GPS and Sounders? Call Lowrance right at 8:59 Eastern, funny you did not mention Lowrance, I must be another satisfied customer eh?
If my diary serves me well, there should be a good run of springs about now. Possibly Cowichan as theres a closure on June 1st. Just conjecture on my part. Yeah let's go beat up on a threatened run. There usually in close, I guess I'll go to the Hump and feed a seal. eman
SeaWolf and Cuba Libre, reading your posts you guys sound like two happy Lowrance owners waiting to get your units back...... By the way, I purchased my Lowrance in the USA and their service has been stellar. They replaced my unit last year with a new one and extended the warranty period by six months when I told them I did not have my boat in the water during the winter months. They might be better to deal with in the US......... SS
ps you really have to start questioning the product when two other people with Lowrance's that I know have been having problems. Unfortunately I am tied to Lowrance at the hip as I also purchased a Lowrance Radar that works with my unit....
It's a hit or miss. Mostly miss for me.
Had one day with 4 on. One lost to a seal.
Two in the boat and lost number four when mr seal and I had a race.
That day the water was so clear we did not use flashers.
I think it helped.

Went out to the Hump last week picked up a couple nice feeders around 10 pds and alot of little cod looked like grey cod maybe? They had one little wisker on there bottom lip. Caught them before but couldnt keep the damn things off this time there were so many. almost like damn Dogfish.
FYI, those are the true Pacific Cod, also called Grey Cod. This is a close relative of the once abundant Atlantic Cod (East Coast of course) - to be identified by this single whisker (not whiskey ) or barbel below the lower jaw. And eaglem is quite right, at a decent table size they are excellent eating if cooled quickly after the catch.
We were hitting pollack this time last year trolling. Small 1-2 lbs. It could be either but true cod are pretty uncommon around here so if you were catching lots of them probaly pollack.
Small barbells on them though this pic doesnt even show them
Nope definately not Pollock they were cod but none in the 5 pd range. Went out to Floral today didnt even get a sniff I was hoping those Nanaimo and French Creek fish might show up. 1 nice Ling though and a beautiful day.
