Going up to Kitimat to work in a week or so. Wondering if anybody has any inside information on the fishing in the area. Is it worth taking the gear or not, or is it too late in the season.
Your getting in a bit late but I am sure there will still be some fish to target. I would go upper river rather then lower. You can check out this blog for good reports: http://www.noelgyger.ca/
As for spots, I grew up in Kitimat but didn't go back this year and every year it changes especially for coho. Find the pools and the back water and you will do well. Good luck.
What SitkaSpey said. That whole area was just under a huge rain this week; rivers are just now starting to pull back---your timing should be perfect if the rain holds off. Coho will be plentiful in the tribs but they'll be dark. Good steelhead fishing in all the tribs but 100% C&R, no bait
