Just spent a week in Winter Harbor. Worked hard 12hr days for less than a limit. Lots of people arriving from Port Hardy, Telegraph Cove and Campbell River with hope of a better fishing.
Guides are running north to Cape Scott to get fish.
Good luck!

Thanks for the update polywave. did the fish have any size to them? How were the guides making out at scott?

Thanks C-Ballz

Hi CB.
The guides were comming up short. They were also having trouble finding the silvers for some reason, strange because silvers were the one species we had no trouble finding, just outside Kains point.
None of the fish had any size to them really. Once in a while one would be in the 20# range. The heaviest we caught was 16#. We did catch a 12# silver too.
We took some pictures, I'll post them when they are shared (one guy in the group has them on his camera).

It has been really slow there, not much for fish and when the bite does happen, it is spotty at best. Lots of "no fish" boats for a mornings fishing. It is supposed to be blowing a storm out there for the next couple of days, so maybe that will change things up. I am going to try it on the weekend, if things start to pick up.

Cheers

Hey C-Ballz

What boat will you be in?? Are you going with Beak??

The wife has decided that she wants to head out there this weekend, if the weather is good. We will be in a 18' blue Hewescraft, on 68, call either Putt Putt (do not ask, wifes idea) or Sitkaspruce.

Will be out on either Sat or Sun or maybe both. Will camp at Mahahta River.

I just talked to some guys from WFP who were out there on Sunday and the fishing picked up some. Tons of pinks are around, so your bait is a premium, some good coho and the springs area around, just have to be at the right place at the right time, they had their limit in 4 hours for springs.

Maybe see you out there

Cheers

LOL!!!!!!:D:D

One of my other boat was a 16' Silverline with an 83 merc 90 hp six cylinder and an 82 merc 4 hp for a kicker. The first time I took her out, the big motor would not start (starter) so we just trolled from the wharf with the 4 hp. She instantly called the boat Putt Putt and it stuck. Soooo when we got the new boat, we had to name it. I wanter Fish Tub, Spring Tyme or Smilie Tyme....what did she want???? Yup Putt Putt II. And it stuck as it was original and there was a meaning to it. So the boat is called PUTT PUTT II.

I will still have SS for a sign off, because PP is just wrong!!!:D[:p][:0]

Cheers
