Job Opportunities at Van Island Lodges

Hey guys,

Just curious if anyone knows any job openings on any lodges on vancouver island, or central coast for a friend of mine. Wouldn't be guiding, but she just wants to come out to BC and work at a fishing lodge as she loves fishing and wants to get out of that icky place called Ontario haha. Probably looking for job in kitchen, housekeeping, or waitressing of some sort...although she definitely knows fishing well so could work on docks as well. Easy on the eyes as well...just throwing that out there haha.

About what time do most lodges on van. island start to hire? I am interested in a job for this upcoming season as a dockhand. What is the standard wages for most lodges, and do most lodges require employment for the entire season?

My kids starting sending out there Resumes starting Jan usually they start hiring in March for the summer most jobs start end May and can run into September. Good summer jobs for the kids just finishing High School.Wages are usually not great but depending where they work the tips can be great A few yrs back my kid made 20 Grand one summer at Weigh West as a Dock Boy but he busted his butt.

FROM THE WESTCOAST RESORTS WEBSITE: I've been taking clients to their lodges since they started up; most of the lodge managers and some of the bartenders, guides, dock hands, etc. I've met over the years are still there, which makes me think it's a pretty good place to work. I don't work for these guys...I'm just a long-standing client, and I have no vested interest other than to try to help them make the lodge experience as good as possible for the people I take there. I have my own place and a boat on North Van Isle where I spend several weeks a year, but I still enjoy fishing with this company because I can concentrate on entertaining my clients rather than trying to put fish in the boat.
