I'm headed out for some fishing near Meritt in May. I was wondering if anyone had some info on Lac le Jeune, Nicola, and Walloper lakes it would be fantastic!!!!

tight lines this summer!!!!!!!

About mid May Nicola starts happening for Kokanees. They are samll at that time of year and get bigger as the season progresses.

Troll any small fly either pink or bright red near the surface and you can't miss. Neon pink is my favorite. Its great fishing for kids because of the non stop action. Launch at the first boat launch after Merritt on the way to kamloops.

I'm told if you fish the north end of the Lake the fish are bigger, though less plentiful.

Be careful though, Nicola can be quite windy. I have a 16' whaler and it handles anything that the lake can throw at me. If you have a small 10-12' aluminum boat be careful and stay close to shore if its windy.

Personally kokanees are my favorite eating trout - their rich red flesh is much like a sockeye. The beer's not too bad either!:D
