Inspection port size

Anyone know what the recommended size is for a round inspection port on a floatation pod/bracket? I'm looking at the abs twist lock type but am open to any suggestions. My pod will have a 30" setback.

I went with an 8" port and it was just enough room to get your arm in there to get a wrench on the bolts.
