Info Needed: Cameron Lake Boat Launch

Fishing Guide

Cheers All,

Never been on Cameron Lake and have been booked to test some equipment on the lake next week. Guests are coming from out of province so the info is needed sooner than later.

Does anyone have first hand knowledge of what type of ramp is located on Cameron Lake, where the ramp is located and how big a boat can be launched on the ramp. Is it a good ramp or is it a 4x4 situation? Also, is it a pay-per-use or behind a locked gate? Any info that you may also think important would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance....

the ramp is on private property (campground at the south end...I think it's called Cameron Lake Resort, try googling it)...the last time I checked (it's been a few years, mind you) the owner was not allowing anyone use the ramp unless you were staying at the resort.
You'd be better off driving the extra 1/2 hour and using Sproat Lake.

Cheers Kelly,

I am not sure what they are 'looking for' but they are bringing side scan sonar ($250,000.00) as well
as ROV ($100,000.00) so it does sound like more than a boat ride. Info I currently have is that it will
be a training session for engineers gaining hours on the equipment. However...they are adamant that the charter take place in Cameron Lake. Otherwise we would be on Brannon Lake or somewhere closer. Seems to me that there is precious little for boat launches on Cameron Lake. I have tried calling Cameron Lake Resort but no response. I also sent an email and hope to hear from them.

Willing to bet its the monster hunters again.

Pretty sure it was this time of the year they were out last time...

Good luck getting on the water, pretty sure its a resort only scene now also and I'm sure the owners have taken off for wherever it is that they really live by now.

If you get out there, hope you find ol' nessie!

Take a big gun! I've seen the monster.
Dave

Cheers All,

As a guide I am not overly concerned if they wish to put hours on equipment or if they wish to search for 'signs of life" - it's a charter. I used to be part of the ownership of one of the larget marinas in the Okanagan and in the mid-80's a Japanese film company came to search for Ogopogo. They hired 3 of our biggest boats for 2 months and the final total was well into the six figures. Great money and they were always wanting extras - and paid well for them. Nope...no problem at all - either way.

I have not heard if this particuliar group has been on this lake before - but I will definately ask them on Monday.
