My hypalon inflatable boat has been dragged up so many beaches the bottom is scratched and some of those larger scratches are leaking a bit. Just wondering if anyone has treated the bottom of their inflatable for protection and with what. Thanks ....
Patch the leaks and if you have a wooden transom , fasten wheels to keep the inflatable off the oyster shells . Davis makes very functional folding wheels.
You can also glue strips of hypalon on the areas of the pontoons that are the most prone to getting abraded by rocks and shells etc
I had a similar problem. It's easy to see all the scrapes. I did what Sharphooks recommended: gluing several strips over the chafed areas. No more problems.
