If this season ended now !

If this fishing season ended now I would be satisfied with it. I have taken 4 nice fish, a total of 70 lbs so far this month and they will not only feed my family but at least a dozen more people. All the girls in my apt block love the fresh fish I spread about. On a good full season I usually only catch 5 or 6 fish.

I have never filled a license with 30 salmon so I do not mind that the yearly limit could be dropped to 10.

I'm just speaking to your negotiating skills. I'd love to purchase something from you lol. Let's not bend over to these guys that easily. I'm sure we'd all agree that 10 is enough yes, in the name of conservation, but if the additional 20 were being handed over to someone else I'd be a little peeved.

Yes I do understand your concerns

Dont kid yourself it is

The part that i'm having an internal struggle with is that for me this season was already better then 2016,17 and 18. However I was able to get some good fishing in before the restrictions in april, I went up to port hardy and got around the closure and I returned to the best salmon fishery vancouver has offered in a lot time. My freezer is full of chinook

That being said we lost something this year and let's hope we can get it back.

Conservation when hatchery fish make up so much of our seasons?
Maybe 10 wild and 20 hatchery Chinook are a better option!
Bowing down to DFO costs the coast millions of dollars to communities and good tax paying citizens using ******** conservation ploys to appeal the clueless general public.
Hatchery fish are meant to be killed not released!

It is kinda funny that they close us down in the part of the year when we catch hatchery fish and then open us up in the part of the year when we catch wild fish.

Kinda like DFO management of the fraser slide Confusing o_O but its okay because they have first nations on site making archaeological and culture assessments so we can grade a road in the middle of nowhere so we can transport some fish over the slide.

But I’m sure the many businesses that rely on this fishery for their income don’t have the same sentiment. The comercial boats, restaurants, hotels, charter boats and so on. They’ll never recoup that lost revenue and cutting it off now would end so many. It’s ironic to many I know but the world is bigger than just ME !

And those of us who are out of the country right now reading these awesome reports and plan to return Sept 1 would be pretty pissed off not being about to fish because some folks have had enough already........ LOL. I'm retired and have filled my license the last 2 years. Only since I'm retired have I been able to do that. I fished 20 days last August. Every fish got eaten by me or my family. Zero waste emissions. 2 days a week minimum for salmon on my table.
