Hydraulic steering fluid

Was thinking about changing hydraulic steering fluid on my 23” kingfisher. I have a dual steering station. Not sure how to change and bleed the system. Any helpful ideas how to change with a dual station. Is it easy enough to change or is it best to bring it into the dealer. Since I have a dual station.

Why do you want to change it?

Well, if you don’t understand the simple workings of these systems, I would highly suggest just taking it to reputable shop. Not only will they identify leaks because the fluid has to be going somewhere, but they will properly bleed the system for you They should have the right equipment and will get this done in the matter of minutes.

If you’re having to top off, you have a leak. Replacing fluid won’t fix that. If you can’t find the leak, swap to aviation hydraulic fluid. It’s an approved spec for Seastar (H5606). It’s much cheaper and red, so you’ll see the leak. Fix your leak and keep your piece of mind on the water.
