I’m in the market for a used welded sportsman type boat. Can’t afford new one as my budget is only 40K.
I’ve seen horror stories from other boat buyers who were sold either stolen rigs with fake papers or boats with liens.
How one protects himself from buying a used boat that hasn’t been fully paid for by previous owner ? Or even worse , a stolen boat with fake papers.
Unlike cars , where bank name is usually listed as co-owner on registration papers , my understanding is that Transport Canada doesnt list bank institutions on registration papers.
