How many traps do commercial prawning boats put down?

I saw 3 boats leave Tsehum harbour heading for Saanich inlet this morning, the first one I thought had a lot of traps but the next 2 I could barely make out they were boats. I'm curious how many traps do commercial prawners put down?

Ah. Slight DOT safety infraction right there.

And remember they reduced the recreational limit from 200 to 125 prawns a few years ago.

I'm always surprised how well they recover every year. We hammer them pretty hard, the commercial boats essentially wipe them out in most popular spots. Then, next year, they're back! Seems like one fishery that is being managed well, or is just naturally resilient.
