No--its apparently crossing the bar at the mouth of the Columbia so i am told. I will check with a bud in NZ and see if he can confirm where its from.

It's NZ and has been discussed on BD alot. Not the Columbia all though that is one rough MF'er bar to cross as well!!!!

A buddy of mine runs a tuna boat and has told me stories about crossing the bar at the Columbia. Sounds pretty wild there too but I didn't envision anything like what's in this vid. That's scary looking stuff.

I've been sick in lots of places but a spring freshet, outgoing tide, and a 40 knot onshore wind at the mouth of the Columbia is scary. We were trying to get out to do some research work in an 80' seine boat, but had to turn round betwen the standing waves, which doubled the pucker factor. Columbia can have way bigger waves than the video, but less of a confused/washing machine sea from what I recall.

Im heading to NZ to play ball in feb and am being taken fishing for big snappers by 1 of my kiwi coaches. Gonna make sure its no where near there. That looks damn right scary
